Being Here – Day 5
Being Here – Poem Day 5
Today’s poem is another one for reading.
It sits alongside the listening poem shared yesterday and stays with a different aspect of what life can feel like when things keep moving and asking of us.
There’s nothing to work out or take from it. Just read (optionally listen, audio included below) and let the words land.
Thank you for being here in whatever way fits today.
Warmly,

When everything feels too much – Reflecting
When the days keep asking
There are times when life doesn’t overwhelm all at once,
but instead keeps asking —
quietly, persistently, without pause.
One thing follows another.
Responsibilities line up neatly.
There is always something that needs attention.
From the outside, this can look like coping.
Getting through.
Managing what’s required.
Inside, it can feel like never quite arriving.
Like standing in the middle of movement
without a clear place to stop.
Nothing here is dramatic.
There may be no crisis, no emergency,
just the steady weight of continuation.
It’s common, in these moments,
to assume this is simply how things are —
that rest belongs elsewhere,
or later,
or to someone else.
But carrying on without interruption
leaves its own mark.
It shapes how time is felt.
It narrows what’s noticed.
Naming this doesn’t change the pace of life.
It doesn’t remove what needs doing.
It simply acknowledges
what it’s like to keep going
when the days keep asking.
