Being Here – Poem Day 43

Poem – When effort rises and falls

Today’s poem works with a familiar movement:
periods of energy and engagement followed by withdrawal.
Wanting to give, then needing to step back.

This pattern isn’t framed as inconsistency.
It often reflects changing capacity, uneven return, or the natural rise and fall of energy.

The poem doesn’t ask you to stabilise.
It doesn’t suggest recommitment or renewed effort.

Instead, it offers the nervous system something quieter:
that worth can remain steady even as effort changes —
that value does not increase when you give
or decrease when you pause.

There’s nothing to work out while listening.
The sequence carries itself.

Pause.

If anything feels unsettled or lingering after listening, you might try one small thing — only if it feels helpful.

Let one shift in energy happen without adjusting your view of yourself.

Nothing else is required.

Listening is enough.

Warmly,
Per

Poem – When effort rises and falls

There is room here for giving and for stopping. Nothing needs to stay the same.
The body is already supported, able to lean in and to lean back without losing its place.
Awareness widens to include the shift — the moment of engagement, the moment of retreat, both arriving honestly.

Energy gathers for a while, then softens. Neither is treated as failure.
Breath continues on its own, moving through effort and through rest, without preference.
Warmth adjusts gently, sometimes more available, sometimes quieter, remaining present throughout.

The chest does not have to decide. It can stay responsive, meeting each phase as it comes.
The urge to contribute is allowed without being turned into obligation. The urge to withdraw is allowed without becoming absence.

The body recognises that value is not measured by how steadily effort is given.
There is a sense of being intact through movement and pause, inside the same steady outline.
This moment does not ask you to recommit or to step away.

You remain here, inside a body that can offer and rest, engage and recover, without losing its worth.

For now, that is enough.
