Being Here – Poem Day 46

Poem – When I’m always measuring where I stand

Today’s poem works with a particular kind of vigilance —
the sense of being measured, compared, or evaluated.

This can show up as pressure to prove,
to hold position,
to avoid slipping in standing.

The nervous system can treat status as safety.
Rank can feel tied to belonging, security, or future opportunity.

The poem does not ask you to give up ambition.
It does not question competence or drive.

Instead, it offers something quieter:

that position may shift,
but worth does not relocate with it.

Nothing needs to be demonstrated while listening.
The sequence carries itself.

Pause.

If anything lingers or feels activating after listening, you might try one small thing — only if it feels helpful.

Feel the support beneath your feet and remain there for a moment.

Nothing else is required.

Warmly,
Per

Poem – When I’m always measuring where I stand

There is space here to stop checking for a moment. Nothing is being assessed right now.

The body is already supported, held without needing to rise or fall, steady without climbing.

Awareness settles into where you are, not scanning above or below, not tracking who is ahead or behind.

Muscles release their quiet readiness, not losing strength, just easing the constant comparison.

Breath moves freely again, no longer shaped by anticipation, no longer preparing for judgement.

Warmth stays close and contained, not surging to impress, not withdrawing to hide.

The chest remains upright without strain, not puffed up, not shrinking back, able to hold itself.

The sense of value gathers inward, less dependent on reflection, less tied to how you appear.

The body recognises that position can change without threatening existence.

There is a feeling of standing on your own ground, not ranked, not evaluated, simply present.

This moment does not ask you to improve your place. It does not ask you to lower yourself.

You remain here, inside a body that knows its worth without needing to compare, without needing to prove.

For now, that is enough.
