Procrastination – Per Norrgren
In the shadowed corners of the mind,
Where intentions hide and gather dust,
Lies the weight of unspoken tasks,
A burden self-imposed and unjust.
The act of pushing it away,
A fleeting comfort, a brief reprieve,
Turns mountains out of molehill’s clay,
As time conspires, and thoughts deceive.
Each delay, a whisper in the dark,
A siren’s call, a soft lament,
Magnifies the dread, the stark
Reality of time unspent.
Yet, in the smallest acts, we find
The seeds of progress, the subtle shift,
A step, a word, a thought unbind,
Can start to heal the inner rift.
To say, “I do not like this chore,”
Is truth’s own voice, an honest plea,
Yet doing just a little more
Can set the bound soul free.
For in the act of simply starting,
The weight begins to dissipate,
The heart, once heavy, now is parting
From the chains of its own fate.
So whisper gently to the self,
“I do not like this, and that’s okay,
But let’s just do a little now,”
And watch the night give way to day.
In every moment, choice is found,
A bridge from stasis to the light,
A promise made to self unbound,
That action turns the dark to bright.
Thus, in the quiet, take a step,
Embrace the task, however small,
And know that in this, you accept
The power to dismantle all.
