Balanced Equanimity – Per Norrgren

With patient wisdom, I will learn to see
That all which rises, also comes to be,
Impermanent, not mine, devoid of self—
Both pleasure and pain just as they are, no more.

For mind’s constructions only bring unrest,
I’ll practice not to lean to like or dislike.
Pleasant and unpleasant, I will know
Are only vedana that ebb and flow.

Freedom comes not by pushing away,
But seeing with insight their shifting way.
Calm equanimity will carry me through,
Not tossed by conditions, emotions subdued.

With regular practice, I can reside
In balance, disturbing views pacified.
May all beings discover this peace within,
As equanimity replaces cling and aversion.

A Ray of Sunshine – Per Norrgren

In morning’s grace, the sun ascends on high,
Its golden rays a love note from the sky.
I let it in, this luminous embrace,
As sunlight kisses every contour of my face.

The warmth, a tender touch upon my heart,
A celestial nectar, in my veins impart.
My body filled with photons, light and free,
A radiant dance, the sun now lives in me.

In shadows long and nights devoid of sight,
I summon forth this internal reservoir of light.
The luminous feeling, always there to tap,
A solar glow, in darkness’ subtle trap.

Wherever I wander, this truth I carry forth,
That within me shines the light, setting my compass north.

The Forrest – Per Norrgren

In the heart of the forest, so deep and wide,
A young woman walks, with her mind as her guide,
She feels each thought, like a buzzing bee’s flight,
Who is lost amidst the trees, seeking the sunlight.

She speaks with her mind, as thorns prick the rose,
with every fight, her turmoil just grows.
Then, from the silent whispers of the glade,
Whispers from the shadow and the shade.

“Treat your thoughts like the deer, be gentle and kind,
Or the butterfly, let them leave and unwind.”
Now amidst flowers and trees, her heart feels so grand,
“With love for myself, in peace here I stand.”

Unfolding – Per Norrgren

In a meadow where wildflowers gleam,
A butterfly danced, caught in a dream.
The river whispered tales of old,
As shadows grew long and sunlight turned cold.

A breeze rustled leaves, nature’s sweet song,
And stars emerged as the night grew long.
But just as the world seemed silent and stark,
A firefly lit up, a luminous spark.

In the darkest moments, nature’s surprise,
Even in night, beauty arises.

Letting go – Per Norrgren

With every inbreath, life anew begins,
A chance to greet the dawn, embrace the winds.
Whatever comes, whatever the day brings,
In every heartbeat, the present sings.

Each outbreath, a farewell to the past,
To moments cherished, yet couldn’t last.
Even joys once held close, fade away,
All has its time, night follows day.

In the rhythm of breath, we find our way,
As change remains the only constant, come what may.

The Oak within – Per Norrgren

In life’s vast landscape, storms may fiercely blow,
Mountains rise, then valleys dip so low;
The tides of fate rush in, then they retreat,
Each dawn and dusk, in rhythm they repeat.

Yet, as the sturdy oak stands tall and true,
Weathering each tempest it must go through,
Our bodies, like that oak, remain our home,
A sanctuary where stress can never roam.

Nature’s dance mirrors our own ebb and flow,
In sun and shade, life’s varied moments show.
Through every trial, every joyous song,
Our bodies hold us, keeping us strong.

Amidst life’s trials, vast and evergreen,
Our body’s peace remains, a constant scene.

People

Not sure the quote is from Albert Einstein, but it did make me smile.

Being surrounded by negative people, selfish people, and people enjoying hurting you is toxic for your mental and physical health.

Look around, listen, watch, and ask: “How are they interacting with me?”

If you find you have such people in your life, now is the time to realise that our natural behaviour of trying to explain, trying to please, is keeping you stuck in your toxic situation.

Then ask yourself: “What can I do to minimise the interaction with such people? Is there anything in my powers to change?”

Then do it.

If there is nothing you can do in this moment to alter the situation, now is the time to practice Deeper Mindfulness and to build your self-protective layer and topping up the resilience tank.

thank you
